Given that “affordable” is relative, I have posted a couple of the higher price range full house systems, which are great to have, to help you choose what is the best water filter for home use.
I have also included a variety of less expensive systems, an under the counter unit, and a counter top unit.
Wherever you are in the broad market, what is the the best water filter for your home use?
Do you prioritize the filtering of the water for your home?
This topic came to mind because I heard, only a few days ago, on the radio, a report about PFO’s/PFA’s in the ground water of my county.
The fact is, that all of North America is polluted by these PFO’s/PFA’s, especially, but not exclusively, near military bases.
PFO’s/PFA’s entered the chemical industry and were unrestricted. If you like history, here is a timeline at Wikipedia.
Those chemicals are associated with kidney disease and cancers.
Arsenic is another concern in drinking water. Recent headlines reveal it is in all baby foods!
Yet, there are very affordable water filters that small apartment dwellers and more affluent renters and home owners can benefit from.
Water that you drink, cook with, wash your clothes in, and bathe in, is polluted with chemicals that easily transfer through your skin into your blood stream. Never mind that you drink it!
This can be frightening – yet I repeat, for as low as $99 you can get a good water filter that sits on your counter top.
For an under the counter unit, you will pay a little more.
Reverse osmosis units are considered to be the best filters, but you must consider that you flush out a lot of water using this method. Consider the cost of that, and water waste.
There are many systems to choose from, and I’m sure you can find the right one for your home, RV, and camping equipment.
